Station 1

Station 1 is the Headquarters for our Company. This location is also headquarters of the Pender County Emergency Operations Center, Pender County Office of Emergency Management, and the Pender County Fire Marshal Office.

Station 1 is home to three of our response divisions (EMS, PTS, and Rescue) the primary response area is approximately 190 square miles of central Pender County. Station 1 has the highest annual call volume. Located within the response district are the communities of Burgaw (the county seat), and St. Helena.  The crew at Station 1 has access to and from I-40 via Exit 398.

Station 1 is home to a Paramedic crew consisting of one Paramedic and one EMT- B or EMT- B driver 24 hours a day.

Station 1 is the home base of one of the two Heavy Rescue Trucks staffed and operated by full-time North Carolina Rescue Technicians (RT’s). Volunteer Rescue and EMS members often enhance the staffing at Station 1.

Station 1 is home for the Pender Transport Division (PTS) with PTS Admin., Transport Ambulances, Wheelchair Vans, and Bariatric Units stationed here.

Station 4

Located at the South end of Topsail Island, crews assigned to this station observe large fluctuations in call Volume tied to the growth spurts associated with seasonal tourist visits.

Our Ocean Rescue Team responds from Station 4 from two weeks before Memorial Day until two weeks after Labor Day each year.

Station 4 is home to a Paramedic crew consisting of one Paramedic and one EMT- B or EMT- B driver 24 hours a day.

Station 5

Covering the North Western portion of Pender County (bordered by Duplin County), and encompassing roughly 145 square miles, crews at this station serve the communities of, Willard, Watha, Penderlea, and Shiloh.  The crew at Station 5 has access to and from I-40 via Exit 390.  This station is owned and staffed by members of Union EMS and Rescue, supplemented by a Paramedic from Pender EMS.

Station 7

Station 7 Rocky Point and Long Creek are two of the communities in which the residents of District 7 reside. Additionally, this South Western portion of Pender County is one of the fastest growing areas in North Carolina, and is expected to sustain that growth for the projected future. The crew at Station 7 has access to and from I-40 via Exit 408.

Station 7 is home to a Paramedic crew consisting of one Paramedic and one EMT- B or EMT- B driver 24 hours a day.

The Pender Transport Dispatch, Training Officer’s, Safety Officer, Fleet Management and Building/Grounds Maintenance Battalion Chief, Assistant Chiefs, and Deputy Chiefs are located here as well as being one of our Training Facilities.

Station 8

Station 8 has a Quick Response Vehicle (QRV) staffed by an EMT-Paramedic. It has significantly improved quality of care for the residents in and around the community of Maple Hill.  A Transport truck from Station 1 primarily responds with the QRV for calls in this area.

Station 8 is home to our EMS Battalion Chiefs at night, during the day the BC’s are on a QRV throughout the county taking care of the crew needs, supplies, and first respond to calls. At night they respond to calls in the Station 8 district as well as keep track of calls during the night and complete paperwork form the day’s duties.

Station 9

Through cooperation with Black River Health Center, Pender EMS is enabled to staff a full transport truck in the far western portion of Pender County. Remodeling a section of the building formerly occupied by the offices of the above mentioned Health Center, and the construction of a single ambulance bay, have greatly improved EMS response times in the Atkinson, Currie, Canetuck and Ivanhoe townships.

Station 9 is home to a Paramedic crew consisting of one Paramedic and one EMT- B or EMT- B driver 24 hours a day.

Station 14

Station 14 is home to three of our response divisions (EMS, Fire, and Rescue) it has the second highest EMS annual call volume in the county; Station 14 covers the northern  mainland of Eastern Pender County.  Hampstead and Sloop Point communities are the primary response area.

Station 14 is home to a Paramedic crew consisting of one Paramedic and one EMT- B or EMT- B driver 24 hours a day.

One of the two Heavy Rescue Trucks (Squad 14) is also based at Station 14.

Station 14 is the home base for Sloop Point area Fire Station with a three man full time crew that responds with a Fire Engine to Fires, Wrecks, and Medical Emergencies. It is supplemented with Volunteers that respond and assist with other apparatus and manpower.

Station 16

Station 16 is home to two of our response divisions (EMS and Fire) Station 16 Fire division covers the central part of Eastern Pender County. The EMS division covers the central and southern part of Eastern Pender County.

Station 16 is home to a Paramedic crew consisting of one Paramedic and one EMT- B or EMT- B driver 24 hours a day.

Station 16 is the home base for the Hampstead area Fire Station with a three man full time crew that responds with a Fire Engine to Fires, Wrecks, and Medical Emergencies. It is supplemented with Volunteers that respond and assist with other apparatus and manpower.

Station 18

Station 18 is one of our new stations scheduled to open mid October 2014.

Station 18 will be the home base for the Scotts Hill area Fire Station it will be staffed with a full time crew of three that responds with a Fire Engine one of the crew will be a Fire/Paramedic for medical first response to Fires, Wrecks, and Medical Emergencies. It will be supplemented with Volunteers that respond and assist with other apparatus and manpower.

Station 21

Station 21 is home to two of our response divisions (Fire and Rescue) Station 21 Fire division covers the Long Creek Community as well as some of the Southern and Western part of Pender County.

Station 21 is home to a Squad 21 which is a Rescue truck that responds to wrecks with heavy rescue equipment as needed.

Station 21 is the home base for the Long Creek area Fire Station with a three man full time crew that responds with a Fire Engine to Fires, Wrecks, and Medical Emergencies. It is supplemented with Volunteers that respond and assist with other apparatus and manpower

Station 23

Through cooperation with Surf City Fire Department, Pender EMS and Fire, Inc. is enabled  to staff a full transport truck in the town of Surf City. Remodeling a section of the building to fit our needs, has greatly improved EMS response times in the Surf City and Southern part of Onslow County which is located in the Town of Surf City.

Station 23 is home to a Paramedic crew consisting of one Paramedic and one EMT- B or EMT- B driver 24 hours a day.

Station 23 is the home base for the Town of Surf City Fire Station with a full time crew that responds with a Fire Engine to Fires, Wrecks, and Medical Emergencies. Surf City Fire Department also has a boat that responds to incidents on the Intra-coastal Waterway. Surf City Fire is also supplemented by Volunteers that respond and assist with other apparatus and manpower.

Station 28 is the home base for the Island Creek area Fire Station it is staffed by volunteers in the area that respond with a Fire Engine and/or Tanker as needed to assist other Fire Departments.

Station 29

Station 29 is one of our new stations scheduled to open mid November 2014.

Station 29 will be the home base for the Currie, and South Western part of Pender County area Fire Station, it will be staffed with a full time crew of three that responds with a Fire Engine, one of the crew members will be a Fire/Paramedic for medical first response to Fires, Wrecks, and Medical Emergencies. It is supplemented with Volunteers that respond and assist with other apparatus and manpower.
