ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The IT Technician will be responsible for a wide range of activities to maintain essential IT operations in a 24/7 public safety environment, including deployment, troubleshooting, and maintenance of operating systems, security tools, on-premise applications, web-based applications, and onsite servers; management of Microsoft 365 licenses and ecosystem; triage and onsite response for hardware and connectivity issues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Submits, tracks and responds to service and incident requests through an automated help desk system, telephone, or e-mail: expeditiously responding to emergency requests, assigning requests to other staff, and monitoring the ticket queue.

Installs, configures, upgrades, and troubleshoots endpoints; troubleshoots network and telecommunications systems; Deploys and manages mobile devices via MDM solution.

Adds, modifies, and removes cellular lines of service as needed.

Responds to software support requests from employees for Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) and other business applications.

Provides appropriate training to employees on how to effectively use computer systems and components.

Establishes, revokes, and maintains employee access to applicable business applications.

Performs work during emergency/disaster situations.

Other related duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
-
Education: Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or closely related field and one (1) year of experience in the Information Technology field.

Or, in lieu of degree: Four (4) years of Information Technology experience in a similar discipline desired.

Possession of a valid North Carolina Driver’s license.

Required within One year of employment:
Cradlepoint Certified Network Associate (CPCNA) and Network Professional (CPCNP)
FEMA ICS 100, 200, 700, 800
DESIRED:

Microsoft 365 Fundamentals

Microsoft Azure Fundamentals

CompTIA A+, Net+, or Sec+

Strong working knowledge of the operations, characteristics, and requirements of a computer configuration.

Skill in the use of personal computers, related software applications, hardware, and peripheral equipment.

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve user and system problems.

Ability to train others in computer hardware and software applications.

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in written form.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and vendors.

Knowledge of Active Directory, Azure, SharePoint, and Office applications.

Knowledge of networks and network architecture.

Ability to exhibit good security hygiene.

Knowledge of security baselines and practices such as PCI and HIPPA.

Project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
