Firefighter – Fulltime Several positions available

The Firefighter has responsibility to ensure his/her assigned apparatus, equipment and facilities are maintained in appropriate readiness to respond to a variety of life saving emergency calls. The Firefighter is primarily responsible for performing difficult and lifesaving work at emergency scenes including fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical care and general preparatory work at the fire station, checking equipment for proper operation and general condition, and performing and assisting with routine maintenance of apparatus and equipment. Work is normally performed under the direct supervision of the Fire Lieutenant or Fire Battalion Chief. We are seeking experienced Firefighters.
Possession of a high school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform in the position.
Possession of a valid NC Class C driver’s license
Certified NC Firefighter Level 2
Certified NC Emergency Vehicle Driver
Possession of an EMT-B credential, or ability to obtain within one year of employment
Certified NC Technical Rescuer General, or ability to obtain within one year of employment
Certified NC Technical Rescuer VMR, or ability to obtain within one year of employment
NIMS/ICS 100, 200, 700, 800
These positions are made available through the Safer Grant and will be for the duration of this 3 year Grant and include salary, health, dental, vision.
